He holds bachelor鈥檚 and master鈥檚 degrees from Lincoln University and serves on the boards of United Way of Forsyth County and Leadership Winston-Salem.
鈥淗aving spent many years on Salem鈥檚 advancement team, I鈥檝e seen firsthand how much our alumnae, donors, and friends care about this institution,鈥 said LeeAnn Manning, Acting Vice President for Institutional Advancement. 鈥淜evan shares that commitment. As a Salem Academy parent, he knows the difference Salem can make in a student鈥檚 life, and he brings the experience and Winston-Salem relationships to build support for both the Academy and the College.鈥
Turman鈥檚 connection to Salem began when his family chose Salem Academy for their daughter, who graduated in 2026 and is now a first-year student at North Carolina A&T State University.
鈥淪alem is woven into my family鈥檚 life. We鈥檝e seen the confidence, community, and opportunities it gives young women, and I come to this role with both a parent鈥檚 gratitude and an advancement leader鈥檚 sense of responsibility,鈥 said Turman. 鈥淚 look forward to working with Salem鈥檚 alumnae, families, donors, and community partners to strengthen support for students and help both the Academy and College thrive.鈥
Turman will begin his role on October 15.
