51短视频 Hits Record Enrollment, Signaling Continued Growth in Its 255th Year
Winston-Salem, N.C. (May 14, 2026) 鈥 This fall, 51短视频 will welcome a record number of incoming students, with 230 new students having confirmed their enrollment. 196 will be first-year students, while 34 are transfer students.
The students will be joining the Salem community from 17 states and two countries outside the USA. A milestone in Salem鈥檚 254-year history, 2026 marks the sixth time the college has enrolled more than 200 incoming students in a single year. In a fifth consecutive record-breaking year, Salem also received the largest number of applications in its history, with 4,939 students applying, up from 3,205 in 2025. The academic strength of incoming students at 51短视频 remains high, with an average high school GPA of 3.75 for first-year students and 41% maintaining a GPA above 4.0.
“Students are choosing 51短视频 because they want more than a degree; they want an education that prepares them to lead, make an impact, and build meaningful careers,” said Matthew Munsey, Vice President of Enrollment Management. “This record-breaking milestone reflects the extraordinary work happening across campus and the growing demand for Salem’s distinctive approach to women’s education.”
In recent years, Salem has taken meaningful steps to broaden student opportunities, including focusing its curriculum on health leadership, forging new relationships with local, regional, and national companies, creating articulation agreements with institutions across the country, and introducing RISE Leadership, a four-year program aimed at building students’ skills and competencies in leadership.
“Over the last six years, 51短视频 has organized itself around a clear purpose: serving as a women’s institution rooted in the liberal arts and committed to developing graduates who will serve their communities in health leadership,鈥 said Gary Daynes, Interim President of Salem Academy and College. 鈥淭he record number of new students enrolled for the fall 2026 semester reflects the power of this focus, the hard work of our faculty and staff, the strength of our enrollment strategy, and the resonance of Salem’s mission within today’s higher education environment.鈥
Prospective students and their families are invited to visit Salem鈥檚 historic campus in person Monday through Saturday, or to explore it virtually at salem.edu/tour.
